Coconut mousse for dogs with banana, mango, blueberry, and prebiotics

Zoology has never seen a product like this. COCONUT MOUSSE from Syta Miska is a treat in the form of a spread with the addition of banana, mango, blueberry, and natural prebiotics.

Benefits of coconut mousse for dogs:

  • a fantastic reward for a plant-based dog,
  • an excellent dietary variety for dogs of all ages,
  • source of medium-chain fatty acids MCT,
  • thanks to its creamy texture, it is the perfect filling for behavioral toys,
  • incredibly tasty with a pleasant aroma,
  • a source of easily accessible energy and vitamins for dogs of all breeds,
  • recommended for dogs with allergies and food intolerances to animal protein,
  • natural protection for the dog against pathogenic bacteria,
  • the possibility of giving it to dogs struggling with various digestive system diseases.

To create our mousse, we used fresh coconut fruit, from which two main components were derived: coconut pulp and MCT oil. These ingredients are characterized by a high content of medium-chain fatty acids.

Why are MCT acids important in a dog's diet?

  • they help rebuild the epithelium and intestinal villi - stress can lead to a reduction in their height and excessive breakdown of red blood cells, which causes accelerated metabolism and worsened absorption of nutrients,
  • they facilitate the regeneration of the intestinal epithelium because they are a quick and easily accessible source of energy,
  • they have bactericidal properties,
  • they are not stored in the body as reserve fat tissue,
  • carnitine is not required for their conversion as is the case with the breakdown of long-chain fatty acids (animal-derived oils),
  • they positively affect the cognitive functions of senior dogs, while among puppies they facilitate memory and concentration during training.
Due to their health-promoting properties, both the pulp and MCT oil exhibit the following effects:
  • anti-inflammatory,
  • antioxidant,
  • anticancer,
  • hepatoprotective.
Moreover, they reduce joint inflammation and the risk of developing osteoporotic changes, positively affect the lipid profile, and also act as a barrier against pathogenic microorganisms.

Too much fat in a dog's diet?

No worries, medium-chain fatty acids in dogs are broken down by saliva enzymes into glycerol and fatty acids, which is important for dogs suffering from pancreatic diseases or underdeveloped digestive glands.

How does the breakdown process of MCT occur in a dog's body?
It occurs during beta-oxidation in the liver, and the process itself is energy-efficient. The metabolism of this type of fat does not cause fat tissue to accumulate as an energy reserve, so for dogs struggling with excess weight, coconut mousse will be an interesting dietary addition (of course, considering it is a treat that should not exceed 10% of the total daily food ration).

Coconut mousse contains, besides fat, amino acids such as glutamic acid which enhances memory capacity and proper nervous system function, and arginine which reduces oxidative stress in the dog's body.

Due to the addition of fruits such as banana, mango, and blueberry, coconut mousse is a good source of magnesium, potassium, and dietary fiber in a dog's diet. Moreover, Syta Micha's coconut mousse provides:

  • Vitamin E to maintain proper metabolic processes and proper brain function,
  • Vitamin K, whose main role is proper blood clotting and preventing osteoporosis,
  • Phenolic compounds with anti-inflammatory properties.

Coconut paste for dogs is also a source of dietary fiber. The inulin and apple fiber used in production are considered natural prebiotics.
Inulin helps stimulate lactic acid bacteria in the large intestine, which results in, among others:

  • better digestion,
  • increased production of short-chain fatty acids (including acetic, propionic, butyric, valeric, and caproic acids),
  • inhibition of putrefactive bacteria growth,
  • vitamin production (especially B vitamins),
  • a more effective immune response.

Apple fiber helps cleanse the body of toxins, helps maintain proper cholesterol and glucose levels in the dog's body, and also supports maintaining a healthy body weight.
